In spring of 2019, a handful of people got together to talk about something that each one was already thinking about. What would it look like if Springside had a resource centre? What if our small town would be able to have a place where recent and existing residents of the area could connect and get to know each other? What if parents could spend some time visiting and let their children play? What if our town had a space for teens to come and work on homework and just hang out? What if we could host family friendly events, offer educational workshops, and meet other needs in our community? What if this centre could help inform and promote other community groups services and events? 
That is a lot of ‘what ifs’. But that’s where we started. Asking questions about what could help Springside and area’s residents thrive. So we talked, dreamed, and asked questions. And then we pursued an opportunity with the vacant credit union building. That opportunity has been realized through the support of passionate residents to see our community stay connected and become better together. This resource centre idea has become reality but we are still working on what lays ahead. We are planning programs and services to offer in a soft launch mode and desire the feedback from our community to see what else could be realized.
